Infant Care: Six Months Old Baby Activities

Babies bring several reasons for us to stay happy in our lives. They make our life beautiful and meaningful, along with the possibility of several changes in us and our lives too. Babies provide us a whole new meaning to live and love our lives to the fullest. However, mothers who are new to motherhood experience seem to find it challenging and sometimes challenging as they frustrate over their child’s switching behavior. The beginning of life journey for babies is a little hard to cope with as infants are dependent on their mother’s hands.

The infant level is the very first stage of babies where they come to develop their senses and body movement accordingly.  The first year of growth is the most critical time for babies as they come to walk, talk, and understand their surroundings during this time frame. Eventually, not every child develops all these abilities quickly, so no comparison should be there between children.

What does an infant demand from his mother?

The most important attention for an infant is his mother’s as she is the closest person to whom he ever wants to be with at that time. Infants are dependent on their mother’s hands during their first few months. Their sight, hearing, and physical movement limit their abilities to concentrate on many levels. After four months of growth, they can see, hear, and move their hands and feet properly. They start making sounds to express themselves too.

Mothers are responsible for helping them develop these abilities more quickly and easily. They practice baby care before welcoming their child into their lives so that they can look after them with the utmost attention. They know how their child feels while being with them and what is wrong if they present any bothered behavior. Still, for some women, it’s challenging enough to cope with their baby’s stress and turn it into their own. They wish to have their mother’s all for themselves, so mothers should know proper techniques to help them feel secure with love at all times.

First six months of growth for infants

So now, you are a fresh new mother with all the knowledge uploaded into your brain to look after your baby until you come to realize it’s on a whole different level when you experience it. The first month of the baby demands more feeding and sleeping time, where he concerns himself with love and feeds from his mother. Second-month development shows signs of more movement and crying along with more feeding times. During this time, mothers are suggested to adjust their sleep and eat routines so that they can have their nap times too.

The third and fourth month of babies bring lots of changes in them. They start focusing on objects near them or rather see them. They recognize people around them and make small cooing sounds to them. They grab and hold fingers and respond to any vice or action. In their fifth months, they can see, hear, and move clearly, and they are ready to be fed solids too. So what brings new changes into their lives in their sixth month? Let’s look at some six months old baby activities that are present after the new month starts.

Sixth-month development in babies

Growth:  So now, you are halfway through your first-year growth cycle training, and your child is done with his first six months of growth. He has doubled in weight in comparison to his birth weight. Eventually, he will gain 1-2 pounds every month, so it’s natural for a baby to look chubby and full at a new month beginning. He will is now taller as well, and his pamper size will increase too.

 Motor skills: Your child is now ready to sit on his own with a little hand support and moving upward. Before reaching this milestone, they practice twisting and turning left and right along with putting pressure on their hands to step up. Once they get the hang of it, they sit up straight on their own once and for all. The baby can roll from his tummy to his back and repeat intentionally. To move forward, some can crawl or creep through sluggish movements and stand on their hands and knees, jiggling their body back and forth.

Sleep:  It expected to see sleep time changes in your baby as he is sleeping less than he did in his early months. Their cycle revolves around 6-8 hours of sleep while managing day and night time sleep. If your baby is having trouble sleeping, they have applied The Ferber Method in which the infant is left in his crib while awake. This process is complicated and time taking, but once it’s adjusted, your child will be sleep independently in no time.

Senses: You will notice your baby’s eye color change from birth time. Light color eyes tale time while adjusting into the actual shade, and darker eyes stay the same. Your baby is talking in his language now and listening to all kinds of poems and stories with you.

Eating: Your baby is ready to take some solids like cereal with breast milk or formula. Make purees from fresh fruits and vegetables to let them get used to solids. Give them time to adjust to something new if you introduce it. If he doesn’t like it, repeat after a couple of days, and he will gradually come to like it. Cow milk is not optional at all levels, along with starting any eggs and fish dishes. Wait till he is one, and you can begin to hard foods slowly with them too.

Activities: Do lots of verbal exercises with them and every other business that includes vocal, visual, and hearing senses. The more you interact with them and indulge them in multiple sounds and movement activities, the faster they will pick up their physical and mental growth. Infants take up to our 90% attention and focus while being brought up into well-groomed children. It’s best to give our all and see the results in them successfully and pleasingly.
